The approach

Most fitness tools tell you what you want to hear. These don't. The pushup norms come from the American College of Sports Medicine and the Canadian Standardized Test of Fitness — population-wide samples, not self-selected gym forums.

The habit timeline comes from Lally et al. (UCL, 2010) — the most rigorous peer-reviewed study on automaticity, with a median of 66 days, not the mythical 21.
